The Aviva RX10: Why Powered Tilt Matters Clinically

When I'm assessing a powerchair user, I'm always asking one question: how well will this chair support the person across a whole day, not just for the first hour? The Aviva RX10 with powered tilt answers that well;

Pressure management.

Powered tilt lets the user redistribute their weight away from the ischial tuberosities and sacrum without needing a carer to transfer or reposition them. Regular tilting cycles improve tissue perfusion and are one of the most effective ways to reduce pressure injury risk. Because the user controls it independently, they're far more likely to actually do it.

Posture and comfort.

Tilting the seat and backrest together, with the hip angle maintained, means we can offload the spine and ease fatigue without disturbing the postural position we've worked hard to set. Users can rest, recover and then return to an upright, functional position for eating, working or socialising.

Safety and stability.
Tilt helps manage users with poor head or trunk control, or those who slide or slump over long periods. Positioning them back and supported reduces the risk of falling forward and can assist with swallowing, breathing and digestion.
Independence and dignity.
Being able to change position without asking for help gives people control over their own comfort. That matters for confidence, engagement and quality of life.

Reduced carer burden.
Fewer manual repositions means less strain on carers and less disruption for the user, which is a real benefit in care home and community settings.

A stable platform for a wide range of users. The RX10 offers a stable, capable base for clients with complex postural needs, especially when paired with the right seating and supports.
As always, the right chair depends on a full postural assessment. If you'd like to talk through a client's needs, or arrange a demonstration, the ENdynamics team would be glad to help.
